Abstract (en)
The invention finds application in the art of backboards for total immobilization of injured patients before or during ambulance transportation. For this purpose, the invention addresses a pediatric backboard (2) that allows immobilization of an injured child when used alone; and partially forms and completes an adult backboard (1) when used within a structure (1a). The backboard can also incorporate a restraint strap housing formed within the surface that receives the body of the adult patient.
