[origin: EP2014415A1] The treatment process for the surface (18) of an engine component (12) involves preparing a treatment device (1) including a high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) burner (10) with a nozzle (16) or a cold gas spray device, and a powder containing ceramic, preparing the surface and blowing the powder over at least a sector of it using the HVOF burner or cold gas injection, moving it along the surface to roughen or activate it.
