[origin: EP2019068A1] A handheld adhesive segment applicator (50) is provided for use with an adhesive segment laden carrier release tape. The handheld applicator (50) includes an adhesive dispensing wheel (56) upon which a roll of adhesive segment carrier release tape is mounted and a take-up core system (58) operatively engaged to the dispensing wheel (56) for automatically advancing and positioning the adhesive segment-laden carrier release tape.
