Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2019397A2] The electrical transformer (10) has coils (15,16), a selector switch (12) and a circuit breaker (13). The circuit breaker has a transition resistor (22). The coils and the transition resistor are fixed in a common transformer housing (11), which is filled with transformer oil (25). Devices or gadgets are provided to prevent an occurrence of non-permissible operating condition, when temperature of the transition resistor reaches or exceeds a preset threshold value. An INDEPENDENT claim is also included for a method for operating an electrical transformer.
