[origin: WO2007134641A1] The invention relates to a junction for guideways (4) of vehicles (2), in particular of magnetic levitation railways, which move longitudinally along the guideways and encompass side elements (6). A first main guideway portion (7) can be selectively connected to an adjoining second main guideway portion (8) to form the main guideway or to a connecting guideway portion (9) to form a connecting guideway and shifting means for shifting the junction are provided. In order to create a junction which is technically simple and allows rapid shifts, in particular for small radii, the shifting means comprise a main guideway segment (10) belonging to the main guideway and a connecting guideway segment (11) belonging to the connecting guideway, with both segments of the guideway (10, 11) able to be lowered selectively, the main guideway segment (10) connects the two segments of the main roadway (7, 8) in its raised position and releases the end of the first main guideway portion (7) in its lowered position and the connecting guideway segment (11) is positioned next to the first main guideway portion (7) and, in its raised position, extends the connecting guideway portion (9) up to the end of the first main guideway portion (7), with the first main guideway portion (7) and the curved connecting guideway portion (9) forming the continuous connecting guideway.
