Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2007124955A2] The invention is directed towards an input device for a user to perform switching, setting and other input and selection operations. Such input devices are provided particularly in the form of switches, sliders and touchscreens, on electrical appliances and other controllers, e.g. in the vehicle domain. The invention is based on the object of providing solutions which allow a large degree of freedom of design to be employed in providing an input interface which is advantageous for a user, particularly one which is easy to operate intuitively. The invention achieves this object by means of an input device for providing an input interface for generating switching, setting or selection signals, on the basis of an input operation performed by a user, with at least one input element for defining an input location provided for generating that signal, and an evaluation circuit for detecting the user's input operation performed in the area of the input location, the input element being in a form such that it provides haptic feedback, and the evaluation circuit defining a detection zone which contains the input element.
