[origin: WO2007134875A1] The invention relates to a method and device for the single and permanent disconnection of an electrical connection, in particular in a vehicle, by means of a pressure wave. To simplify a single and permanent disconnection of an electrical connector it is proposed according to the invention that an electrical cable is separated at a predetermined breaking point and is further deformed in the region of the predetermined breaking point, the severed ends of the cable remaining as a component of the respective cable side. A section of an electrical cable that is to be severed has both a predetermined breaking point and at least one bending point.
