Abstract (en)
A submarine has a conning tower sail that projects above the waterline when not submerged. An emergency escape shaft from within the submarine is located under the sail and leads into the tower above the water line. The shaft is separated from the sail top by an air lock and an open recess within the sail with hinged sidewalls. The recess sidewalls immediately above the escape shaft are lever-operated to enlarge the free area for escaping submariners.

Ein Unterseeboot weist einen Turm (2) auf, an dem ein Überwasserfahrstand (4) ausgebildet ist. In einem Bereich des Überwasserfahrstands (4) mündet ein Notausstiegsschacht (14). Zumindest ein Teil (18, 20) einer den Überwasserfahrstand (4) begrenzenden Seitenwand (8) ist in eine Notausstiegsposition verbringbar, in der ein in Flucht zum Notausstiegsschacht (14) im Bereich des Überwasserfahrstands (4) gebildeter Notausstiegsfreiraum vergrößert ist.
