The shut-off valve for hydrants comprises a plate (5) which can be raised to close the water channel (8) inside the hydrant casing. When the plate is lowered to open the hydrant channel it rests in a recess (6) below the water supply pipe (2).

Hydrant-Abdichtungssystem zur Abdichtung des Strömungswegs eines Hydrantgehäuses (1) mit einem Zufluss (2); einem Anschluss (3); einer Stelleinrichtung (4) und einem Abdichtkörper (5), der durch die Stelleinrichtung (4) in eine Öffnungsstellung und in eine Schließstellung bewegt werden kann, wobei der Abdichtkörper (5) translatorisch aus dem Strömungsweg heraus in die Öffnungsstellung des Abdichtkörpers (5) bewegt werden kann, wobei er in der Öffnungsstellung zumindest im Wesentlichen in einem abseits vom Strömungsweg liegenden Gehäuseteil (6) untergebracht wird.
