The apparatus has a housing (1) which has the shape of a parallelepiped with rectangular top and base walls (2, 3) and square end-face walls (4). Several LED elements (8) are arranged as the light source on the carrier surface (7) in the inner space of the hosing (1) so that a directed light beam is generated between the wall and the lighting surface (6). A regional illumination at the top side and or base side is provided and, starting from the respective light exit opening (5), expands so that each lighting surface (6) is located in the sidelight region of the light beam.

Es wird eine Wandleuchte mit einem zur Aufnahme der elektrischen Komponenten bestimmten Gehäuse (1) und zumindest einem am Gehäuse befestigten lichtdurchlässigen Element (6) beschrieben, deren Besonderheit darin besteht, dass von einer Mehrzahl von LED's (8) mit zugeordneter Optik oder einer Leuchtstofflampenanordnung erzeugtes Licht in gebündelter Form zwischen zwei Flächen geleitet wird, die im Streiflichtbereich des Lichtstrahls gelegen sind.
