[origin: EP2020563A1] Illuminant (e.g. light emitting diode) with a cup-shaped housing (1) for holding the illuminating element (7) and associated electrical components and for positive reception and removeable fixing of the illuminant body (2). The illuminant body has an axial lengthening and a base region (3) connected to an outer region (4), which widens out continuously from the base region in the form of an inclined surface (5), which changes via a vertical wall to a front surface (6) perpendicular to the illuminant body central axis.
