[origin: DE202006008635U1] Support ring comprises a carrier ring (10) made from a material having a corrugated profile on its inner periphery and held in a recess (8). Protrusions (15) of the corrugated profile interact with the outer periphery of the sliding ring when the sliding ring is moved into the carrier ring using an external assembly force. Each protrusion has a side leading in the direction of the assembly movement and having a larger angle of inclination than that of the trailing side. Preferred Features: The carrier ring is made from an elastomer ring. The protrusions have rounded summits. The recess has a radial bearing surface (9) so that the front surface of the sliding ring lies in a flat heat transfer arrangement.
