[origin: WO2007133070A1] The invention relates to a distribution box for optical fibres comprising a slidable unit having a bottom surface, wherein the unit comprises a patch panel placed on top of or above the bottom surface, wherein the patch panel is movable according to a path with respect to the unit between a first position and a second position, wherein at least a part of the path has a directional component extending substantially parallel to the bottom surface. In one embodiment the part of the path extends along the bottom surface. In one embodiment the part of the patch runs substantially parallel to the bottom surface.
