[origin: WO2007137882A1] After an emergency call (N) from a communication terminal (KE1) has been received by an emergency call center (NZ), the position (POS1) of the communication terminal (KE1) is determined by querying a database (DB). An area around the position (POS1) of the communication terminal (KE1) is defined as danger area (GB) and other communication terminals (KE) located in the danger area (GB) are identified. Communication terminals (KE) of rescue workers in the danger area (GB) who are to be informed are then selected. Finally, emergency information (NI) is generated, which can, for example, contain information about escape routes (FW) for potentially imperiled persons or access route information (AW) for rescue workers. This emergency information (NI) is then communicated to each of the selected communication terminals (KE) of potentially imperiled persons and/or rescue workers.
