[origin: WO2007131269A1] A system (1) that allows roaming cellular radio telephones (5) to communicate with remote telephony devices (8) using the Internet (10) or other suitable communications networks. The system includes one or more call bridges (4) that implement call legs (6,7) which can be bridged. The bridged call legs define a communications path between the roaming cellular radio telephone and the telephony device. Call bridges are selected under control of servers (2) so as to provide optimum call charges thereby mitigating costs and other factors related to the roaming nature of the cellular radio telephone.
