[origin: EP2022746A2] The device has a liftable and lowerable lifting slide (2) with two horizontal and parallel running support arms (3, 4) for forming a fork-shaped retainer. The retainer grips the outer circumference of vehicle wheels from bottom. The support arms are movably supported at the lifting slide in order to adjust the distance of the support arms to the wheel diameter. A scale (5) is attached at the bearing of the support arms, where one of the support arms exhibits a marking (3b), which runs along the scale during adjustment of the support arms.
