[origin: WO2007140902A1] Wiper system for vehicle windows, in particular for vehicle windscreens, with at least one wiper shaft which is mounted in a wiper shaft bearing and can be driven by a wiper drive, with a wiper arm end which is fastened to the wiper shaft end protruding from a vehicle body, and with an axial securing element for securing the wiper shaft against axial displacement, wherein the axial securing element releases the wiper shaft for axial yielding in the event of the wiper shaft and/or the wiper arm end being subjected to an external application of force which exceeds a release force.
