[origin: WO2007122331A1] The invention relates to a method for securing an article (40) including the following steps according to which a contactless electronic chip (42) is customised using a management code (41), this management code possibly being read by means of an appropriate contactless reader of the chip, and said chip is positioned in said article, together with a system for using such a method. The method according to the invention is characterized in that it also comprises the following steps according to which a secondary secret code (44) associated with the management code is defined, said secondary code being known to the article purchaser, and the authenticity of the article is verified by reading the management code and verifying that the person carrying or wearing the article knows the secondary code. The invention is particularly applicable to security of deluxe articles.
