[origin: WO2007144108A1] The invention relates to a rod-making machine in the tobacco-processing industry, having a nozzle arrangement (2, 2'), comprising a nozzle body (15, 15'), and having a rod-forming arrangement (6, 6', 12, 12, 12', 13, 13'), comprising a suction-type rod conveyor (6, 6') and a conveying arrangement (12, 12', 13, 13') with a conveying channel (13, 13'), the conveying arrangement (12-13') being arranged upstream of the suction-type rod conveyor (6, 6'), and the conveying channel (13, 13') comprising two opposite channel walls (3, 3', 5, 5'). The invention also relates to a method of producing a rod in the tobacco-processing industry, having the following method steps: conveying separated fibres (17) in the direction of a suction-type rod conveyor (6, 6') in a conveying arrangement (12, 12', 13, 13'), the operation of conveying the separated fibres (17) involving directing the fibres (17) around a nozzle body (15, 15'), - feeding an additive (1) to the fibres (17, 17') and scattering the fibres (17, 17') on a suction-type rod conveyor (6, 6'). The rod-making machine according to the invention is distinguished in that the nozzle body (15, 15') is arranged on or in a channel wall (3, 3'), an aperture (4, 4') being provided in the opposite channel wall (5, 5'), in the region of the nozzle body (15, 15'). A further rod-making machine according to the invention is distinguished in that the nozzle body (15, 15') is arranged on or in the channel wall (3, 3'), in which flows along, in comparison with the opposite channel wall (5, 5'), less material which is to be formed into a rod (7, 7').
