[origin: DE102006012194A1] The connector has a plug insert (10), into which a contact unit (13) is provided for retaining of a lead (63) of a cable (60) and a shield (20) for the lead. The shield has a fastening area (49), at which a mesh wire shield of the cable is fastened. The shield is designed in the fastening area for the mesh wire shield in such a manner that the shield is arranged at the fastening area for the mesh wire shield for mounting around a wire already fastened at the contact unit of the plug insert. The shield has an opening with a diameter that is smaller than lead outer diameter. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a shielded plug connector.
