Abstract (en)
The method involves organizing, in a hierarchical database of a server (SER), points of polylines after different simplifications of an original image with respective different simplification coefficients, according to a simplification coefficient identifier. A chosen simplification coefficient is sent by a terminal (TER) to the server for retrieving the points permitting reconstruction of the image, from the database. The polylines delimit zones in the original image. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) application of a digital image data processing method for edition of geographical map in vector graphics form (B) a system for implementing a digital image data processing method (C) a computer program product for reconstruction/simplification processing of a digital image in vector graphics form.

Pour traiter par simplification/reconstruction une image comportant des zones délimitées par des lignes polygonales dont les points définissant ces lignes sont initialement stockées en mémoire, - on organise dans une base de données (SER) hiérarchisée des jeux de points restants de chaque ligne polygonale après différentes simplifications de l'image initiale avec différents coefficients de simplification respectifs, en fonction d'un identifiant de coefficient de simplification, et, - pour un traitement de reconstruction (33), on fait appel à un identifiant de coefficient de simplification choisi, pour récupérer de la base de données des points permettant la reconstruction de l'image au coefficient de simplification choisi.
