[origin: EP2028626A1] The device has a command unit (30) locking a vehicle (40), and a switching unit switching the command unit from an operating mode (31) to an operating mode (32), where conditions leading to locking of the vehicle are different in the operating modes. The command unit commands locking of the vehicle in the operating mode (31) in response to detection of a signal (11), and commands locking of the vehicle in the operating mode (32) in response to non-detection of a signal (12).
