[origin: WO2007137866A1] The invention relates to a heat exchanger (1) consisting of a block (4) that contains pipes (2) and ribs (3) and at least one pipe base (6) provided with receiving openings (7). The pipes (2) have pipe ends (2a), which can be held in the receiving openings (7) and form pipe/base connections with the pipe base (6). Said connections can be at least partially reinforced by an additional sheet metal part. According to the invention, the sheet metal part (8) has insertion openings (9) for the pipe ends (2a) and is located on the side of the pipe base (6) facing the block (4).
