[origin: DE102006029020B3] The fiber has a bend sensitive zone that is provided with surface treated fiber sections (18a, 18b) in which optical attenuation is increased in comparison to remaining untreated sensor fiber. The zone is formed by an untreated fiber section (19) that extends itself between the surface treated fiber sections, where the fiber is a multimode fiber, and the sections lie outside of the zone. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a sensor fiber.
