[origin: EP2030748A1] The spreader has a grit spreaded for forming a pressed material mat on a continuously moving form strip, which is brought and hardened into an end form under application of pressure and heat by a press. The grit is subjected with steam by a steam strip (8) in the spreader. A heating device (17) is arranged in the steam strip for heating contact areas (14), a steam channel (16) and/or a steam nozzle (15) at a temperature above the present steam (18) in the steam strip. Heat conductive connecting pieces (21) are arranged for heating a guide plate and/or the areas over the heating device. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a spreader.
