Abstract (en)
[origin: GB2438190A] A carton 100 for containing articles comprises a handle for lifting the carton 100, and is formed from a blank 10. The handle comprises a handle flap 50a/62a, 50b/62b and a handle aperture 15a, 15b each formed from one carton 100 wall and a handle flap support structure disposed internally of said carton 100. The handle flap is foldable, into the carton, through the handle aperture 15a, 15b, allowing the carton 100 to be lifted. The handle flap support structure is juxtaposed to said handle aperture 15a, 15b, and is structured to resist the folding of said handle flap 50a/62a, 50b/62b completely inwardly of the carton 100 into co-planar relationship with said one carton wall thereby to provide a durable carrying handle structure. The handle flap support structure preferably is set-up automatically by folding the handle flap 50a/62a, 50b/62b.
