Abstract (en)

A joint (1) between a suppressor (3) and a barrel (2) of a firearm, comprises a substantially cylindrical adapter (6) defining an axis, said adapter has a rear end part (5) for coaxially securing to the muzzle (4) of the barrel (2) and a forward end part (7) for receiving the suppressor, a through bore (8) formed in the adapter (6) in line with the bore in the barrel (2), and a connection element (13) arranged at the rear end part of the suppressor and fitting the forward end part of the adapter (6). The connection element has a disc-shaped forward end part (14) and a tubular rear end part (15). The rear tubular end part (15) of the connection element (13) coaxially fits around the forward end part (7) of the adapter (6), and a through bore (16) is formed in the disc-shaped forward end part of the connection element coaxially with the tubular rear end part (15). A tube section (18) is coaxially attached to the connection element (13) by means of a forward end part (19) and is in contact with the forward end part (7) of the adapter (6) with a rear end part (20) when the suppressor is mounted on the barrel. The joint provides for improved gas sealing and aligning of suppressor and barrel.
