[origin: DE102006031904B3] An assembly converts waste paper into pulp for recovery and has an upright cylindrical vessel whose base (3) is essentially parallel to the rotor (4). The rotor moves within a mixture of waste paper in water and converts this into a slurry. The vessel has a drain outlet for the resulting pulp. The rotor is surrounded by a ring and is higher than the ring. The ring is either a one-piece unit or assembled from segments.
