[origin: WO2008001018A2] The residential gateway (24) is intended for exchanging a data stream between client terminal connected to a local data transmission network and an external data transmission network. In accordance with the invention, the residential gateway (24) furthermore comprises a software module (32) comprising means (40) for retrieving rights of access of said client terminal to a service, means (34) for analyzing the data stream exchanged between said local area network and said external network, which means are intended to identify at least one signalling message in the data stream and at least one transmission parameter for the data stream to be modified as a function of said at least one signalling message, means (46) for authorizing a modification of the parameter as a function of said access rights and means (36) for implementing the authorized modification of said at least one transmission parameter for the data stream.
