Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2039895A1] The pan has inner ribs integrally formed with a plastic upper piece (30) and arranged towards a bottom (10) of a plastic lower piece (50). The upper piece has side walls (31, 32, 33, 34) defining an internal volume, and a cross part (20) extending in the internal volume by joining the side walls. The upper piece extends between an upper end defining an upper opening and a lower end defining a lower opening. The bottom of the lower piece is tightly fitted in a sealed manner at the lower end of the upper piece. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a structural oil pan.
