[origin: WO2008009369A1] The invention relates to a device for the numbering of seating of individual seats of seat rows placed in arenas, halls, or the like along a sequence line, wherein every seat of a seat row is provided with an electronic display and an integrated electronic system, and wherein the electronic system of the seats transmits a seat number via an infrared interface, which comprises infrared transmitters directed in opposite directions for the communication of two seats adjacent to each other, such that a starting seat number can be input by means of an input device into the electronic system of a first seat at the one or at the other end of the seat row, wherein the number can be forwarded to the respectively next seat by the electronic systems of the respectively provided seats of the seat row, following a row count, as a subsequent seat number, each increased by 1.
