[origin: WO2008009439A1] A clamping device for a printing cylinder with two holding devices (11) on a common axis, each of which has a recess (17) to receive one end (19) of the printing cylinder, with their recesses (17) directed towards one another, and which can be moved relative to one another, at least one of the recesses (17) having a contact surface (18) at which the assigned end (19) of the printing cylinder is held during the clamping. At least one of the holding devices (11) has a carrier (12) and a contact element (13) fastened on the carrier (12), on which the contact surface (18) is formed. The contact element (13) consists of a material that has higher electrical conductivity and/or thermal conductivity than does steel. Copper or a copper alloy is especially suitable as a material for the contact element (13).
