[origin: WO2008011495A2] A system for attaching first and second fixation elements at a predetermined angle (60) relative to each other to first and second locations (114a, 114b) of a vertebra (84), respectively, includes a first guide wire (112) configured to be inserted into the first location (114a) of the vertebra, an angular guide system comprising first (162) and second (172) guide arms configured to be set at the predetermined angle (60) relative to each other and the first guide arm (162) is configured to be inserted over the first guide wire (112) and a second guide wire (116) configured to be inserted through the second guide arm (172) into the second location (114b) of the vertebra. The second guide wire (116) includes first (116a) and second (116b) members configured to pivot relative to each other.
