[origin: WO2008006473A1] The invention relates to an impression cylinder for use in rotary printing which has an axial clamping slot (1a-1i) with a slot width (s) of only a few millimeters. Said clamping slot (1a-1i) comprises a) a slot opening (1a) on an outer periphery of the impression cylinder (1), b) a slot base (1b), c) a first clamping wall (1c) for a leading bent section (3) of a printing blanket (2), said wall extending to the slot opening (1a), d) a second clamping wall (1d) for a trailing bent section (5) of the same or an additional printing blanket (4), said wall extending to the slot opening (1a) and being opposite the first clamping wall (1c) at the distance of the slot width (s), e) and a locally restricted extension (1i) for mounting an index member (20-24) used to adjust the lateral index, said extension forming in at least one of the clamping walls (1c, 1d) an at least substantially cylindrical recess that extends towards the slot base (1b).
