[origin: WO2007115551A1] The invention relates to a component, in particular a rotor blade of a gas turbine, with a reinforcing plating, in particular a blade tip plating, wherein the reinforcing plating (11) comprises a top layer (12), which is formed from abrasive particles (14) intercalated in a metallic matrix material (15), and wherein the top layer (12) is applied to a surface of the component (10) with a metallic bonding layer (13) in-between. According to the invention, the metallic bonding layer (13) is formed as a bonding layer applied to the component (10) by high-velocity flame spraying, with the metallic matrix material (15) of the top layer (12) being deposited by electroplating.
