Eine Scheibenschneidmaschine (10) für Brot, Käse und dergleichen strangförmige Lebensmittel besitzt ein Gehäuse (12) mit einer Schneideinrichtung (60, 66) für das strangfömige Lebensmittel, mit einer Einrichtung zum Zuführen des Lebensmittel-Stranges zu der Schneideinrichtung (60, 66) und mit einer Einrichtung (22, 24) zum Lagern der in der Schneideinrichtung (60, 66) nacheinander geschnittenen Scheiben des Lebensmittel-Stranges. Die Lagerflächen für das Lebensmittel in der Zuführeinrichtung und in der Lagereinrichtung weisen jeweils einen gleichen Neigungswinkel (25) mit dem Boden (58) des Gehäuses (12) auf. Die Lagerfläche der Zuführeinrichtung ist zum Schneidmesser (66) der Schneideinrichtung hin geneigt. Das Schneidmesser (66) ist senkrecht zu den Lagerflächen ausgerichtet.
