Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2007132273A2] A rinse-off composition suitable for topical application comprising a skincare active ingredient capable of regulating the barrier properties of the skin and a carrier therefor, said carrier comprising a) a physiologically acceptable oil present in an amount of at least 25% by weight of the composition; b) a surfactant selected from an anionic surfactant, a non-ionic surfactant or a mixture thereof; and c) a miscible non-aqueous film former. The invention particularly relates to skincare active ingredients which are substantially insoluble in water. The composition is especially useful in the treatment of eczema, psoriasis, rosacea-prone skin, inflamed skin and acne. On applying the composition to the skin and rinsing off, an emulsion is formed which may be washed away and a film deposited on the skin comprising a therapeutically effective amount of said skincare active.
