[origin: WO2008009856A2] The invention relates to an in vitro method of screening for candidate compounds for the preventive or curative treatment of acne, comprising the determination of the ability of a compound to modulate expression or the activity of 17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 7, and also to the use of modulators of the expression or of the activity of this enzyme for the treatment of acne or of skin disorders associated with hyperseborrhoea. The invention also relates to methods for the in vitro diagnosis or in vitro prognosis of these pathologies.
