[origin: EP2048273A1] The device has an optical detection mechanism (70) e.g. line scan camera, for monitoring processes of tufting-threads of a tufting-product (10). The device linearly scans the tufting-threads in an area of a rear side of the tufting-product during or after processing by a needle bar (56) by using the optical detection mechanism transverse to a conveying direction (12) of the tufting-product, and detects a linear image. The device evaluates line images for detecting production errors in the product, and provides sample-related transverse offset of the tufting-threads during evaluation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for monitoring production of a tufting-product and detecting production errors in the tufting-product (2) a tufting-machine for production of a tufting-product.
