[origin: WO2008017330A1] The subject matter of the invention is a cartridge gun (1) for extruding viscous compounds, for example joint sealing compounds, from cartridges. The cartridge gun (1) has a holding unit (2, 2') for a cartridge which is filled with the product to be dispensed, a metering unit (3) for the product to be dispensed and a handle (4). In this case, the metering unit (3) has a piston (10) which is fitted to the end of a piston rod (11, 11') which is mounted such that it can be displaced in the housing (8). The piston rod (11, 11') is configured such that it can be moved on that side which is averted from the dispensing side of the product to be dispensed. The user can therefore be provided with a tool which can be operated in a flexible and reliable manner in an extremely small space due to the option of moving the piston rod (11, 11'). In addition, the cartridge gun (1) can consequently be stored in an extremely small space when not in use.
