Abstract (en)
The method involves applying a potential (U2) to an electrode (2) such as spray electrode, where the potential is negative compared to that of a work piece (1). Another potential (U3) is applied to a counter-electrode (3), where the potential is positive compared to that of the work piece. The potential in an area (B) of the work piece to be coated is adjusted based on a desired powder layer thickness in the area by a control unit. The work piece is sprayed with a coating powder in the area to be coated by a powder spray gun (10). An independent claim is also included for a device for electrostatic coating of an electrically conducting work piece with a coating powder.

Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren zum elektrostatischen Beschichten eines elektrisch leitfähigen Werkstücks mit Beschichtungspulver umfasst folgende Schritte. Das Werkstück (1) wird geerdet. Dann wird eine Elektrode (2) auf ein gegenüber dem Werkstück (1) negatives Potenzial (U 2 ) und eine Gegenelektrode (3) auf ein gegenüber dem Werkstück (1) positives Potenzial (U 3 ) gelegt. Mittels eines Steuergeräts (4) wird dafür gesorgt, dass das Potenzial in dem Bereich (B) des Werkstücks (1), in dem das Werkstück (1) zu beschichten ist, Null ist. Anschließend wird das Werkstück (1) mittels einer Pulversprühpistole (10) mit Beschichtungspulver besprüht.
