Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2051272A1] The assembly has a movable element or contact (8) including two electrically conducting parts such as tube shaped outer and rod shaped inner parts (8.1, 8.2) which are axially integrated together in direction for earthing an electrode (4). The parts are axially disintegrated from one another. The part (8.2) is displaced in another direction by releasing an elastic energy storage unit i.e. helical spring (28), which is compressed during displacement in the former direction while being electrically connected to the part (8.1) for closing an earthing disconnector earthing the electrode (2). The elastic energy storage unit is made of electrically insulating material e.g. glass fiber loaded epoxy. An independent claim is also included for a method for selecting and earthing a metal enclosed high and medium voltage distribution station.
