Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2052833A1] The method involves forming a base layer (8) in a molding tool (1) with a mold matching part and a cavity through an injection molding cycle. A decorative layer (10) i.e. foamed layer, is coated on the base layer in the tool with a mold matching part (13) and another cavity through another injection molding cycle. Openings are formed in the base layer during the former cycle, where a perforation unit including cutting edge (5) and perforation needle (6), of a perforation tool (4) incorporated in the tool is introduced into the decorative layer through the openings during the latter cycle. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing a molded part.
