[origin: EP2053228A2] The piston (1) has two diametrically opposite pin bosses (6) in a piston shaft (5), and pin boss holes (7) for accommodating a piston pin (9). A piston rod (8) is connected with the piston in an articulated manner using the piston pin. The pin bosses have a molded recess (14) in an upper region facing a piston head (2). The recess partially extends a crown line (15) of the pin boss holes towards a piston rod support (12), where the recess increases a supporting surface (13) of the piston pin. The recess runs at a distance to an envelope that defines displacement of the piston rod.
