Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2008022617A1] The invention relates to a parking brake device for motor vehicle gearboxes, in particular for automatic gearboxes. Said parking brake device comprises a parking brake handle (2) provided with an actuating or adjusting device (3) for engaging and disengaging the handle (2), in addition to a holding device for securing the parking brake handle (2) in the disengaged position. Said parking brake device is characterised in that the holding device comprises a toggle mechanism (6, 7, 8, 9) that can be displaced from a first, elongate position in which the parking brake handle (2) is held in the disengaged position, into a second angled position in which the parking brake handle (2) can be engaged. Said claimed parking brake handle has, in relation to prior art, advantages relating to costs and has improved robustness and resistance in relation to various environmental conditions. Said claimed parking brake device does not require any additional energy for maintaining the safety effects for the parking brake handle and also only minimal disengaging force for releasing the parking brake device.
