[origin: WO2008089808A1] The invention relates to a jet diffuser (1) having a diffuser housing (8) that can be installed in the water discharge of a sanitary outlet fitting, and having a jet divider (12) in the interior of the housing, dividing the inflowing water flow into a plurality of individual jets, a mixing zone (14) being disposed downstream of the divider for diffusing the individual jets, wherein at least one diffusing channel (16) is provided that ends in the mixing zone (14). Characteristic to the jet diffuser according to the invention is that a throttle or locking piece (18) is provided for reducing and/or optionally activating or deactivating the diffusing function, the throttle or locking piece being displaceable between an open position opening the at least one diffusing channel (16) and a throttle or locking position at least partially closing the at least one diffusing channel (16) by means of a rotary and/or sliding movement (see FIG. 1).
