Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2241736A2] The method involves increasing and decreasing of volume of a working area (8) limited by a piston (4) moving back and forth in a cylinder (2). The load contained in the working area propels the piston for the delivery of work, with the combustion under extension of the area during a working stroke. The volume of the fresh air sucked in a compression chamber (14) is cyclically changed depending on the piston movement. A fresh air quantity is supplied to the working area and the fresh air volume sucked in between two strokes is larger than the variation in volume of the area during stroke. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine with an integrated loading.
