[origin: WO2008058983A1] The invention relates to a side-channel pump (1) for pumping a medium by means of an impeller (4) having a ring of rotor chambers (13, 14), comprising pockets (20) in a radially outer region delimited by the rotor chambers (13, 14). The pockets (20) are filled by means of leakage with the medium to be pumped and create an axial force on the impeller (4). Therefore, the impeller (4) is reliably held in the side-channel pump (1).
