Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2055500A2] The document (1) has a two-dimensional area (6) with two substances exhibiting same color shade and different colors shades during illumination with a visible light and an infra-red light, respectively. An optical recognizable security element (2) e.g. matrix code, is attached on the document by one of the substances and to the remaining part of the area by the other substance, such that the entire area appears in the same color shade when illuminated with the visible light. The security element optically differs from the remaining part of the area when illuminated with the infra-red light. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for verifying a valuable document (2) a method for verifying a valuable document.
