Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2055691A1] Stabilizing olefinically unsaturated monomer comprises adding a retarder containing composition (I), where (I) comprises a solvent (A) from optionally saturated, ring closed and/or open chain aliphatic or aromatic 4-20C-hydrocarbons, -ether or -ester, or methanol, and at least a retarder (B) containing cyclohexa-1,4-diene compound (II), to the olefinically unsaturated monomer or a monomer mixture having at least an olefinically unsaturated monomer. Stabilizing olefinically unsaturated monomer comprises adding a retarder containing composition (I), where (I) comprises a solvent (A) from optionally saturated, ring closed and/or open chain aliphatic or aromatic 4-20C-hydrocarbons, -ether or -ester, or methanol, and at least a retarder (B) containing cyclohexa-1,4-diene compound of formula (II), to the olefinically unsaturated monomer or a monomer mixture having at least an olefinically unsaturated monomer. X : halo, OR 3(preferred) or S-R 3; and R 1-R 2 : H, optionally substituted 1-15C-(cyclo)alkyl or optionally substituted 1-15C-aryl, preferably CH 3or tert.butyl; and R 3 : R 1, preferably 1-6C-alkyl. Independent claims are included for: (1) the monomer composition comprising 10 ppm (m/m) to 100000 ppm of at least one (B) relative to the olefinically unsaturated monomer; and (2) a retarder containing composition comprising (A) or (B).
